Rita E Gonzales

Rita E. Gonzales passed away peacefully on the morning of June 27, 2018, with her family by her side. Rita fought a long and courageous battle with Diabetes.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Gonzales.  Rita is survived by her sisters; Crusita Padilla and husband Manuel, Elaine Ramirez and husband Manny, Donna Gonzales, Cindy Gonzales and Tony Dibble,  brothers; Raynel Gonzales and wife Becky, Charles Gonzales and wife Debbie, Gary Gonzales and wife Sandy.

Rita received her Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and Masters in Accounting from the University of Texas. She followed lobo sports when a game could be seen on her TV or on the internet.  After her retirement as an administrator at the Department of Commerce in Washington D.C. she returned to her home town of Albuquerque to be with her family. She was forever generous with her many nieces and nephews especially during the holidays. As a single woman her pets were her family.  Rita was truly loved by all that knew her.  She loved to travel and had many adventures worldwide. Rita’s hobby was weaving on her many looms. Though her work was far away she always made it home for Christmas and special family affairs. Rita will be greatly missed by friends and family.

Rita’s Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary on July 09, 2018, at 9:00am  at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 1860 Griegos Rd NW. Mass will follow the Rosary. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, The family would like to thank the staff at The Rio at Las Estancias for the exceptional and courteous care of their loved one.
