Rosaycela "Shanice" Medina, a vibrant and adventurous soul, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 36.

She was preceded in death by her cousin, Jasmine Rodrigues.

Shanice is survived by her wife, Jatara Jackson; mother, Luz Medina; brothers, Emmanuel, John, Israel, Brandon and Angel. Along side many nieces and nephews, cousin , aunts and uncles. grandparents and her extended family.

Born on September 22, 1988, in the Bronx, New York, Shanice was a beacon of joy and laughter to all who knew her.

Shanice's zest for life was evident in her love for movies, going out, and her insatiable desire to travel. Her open, loving, and caring nature drew people to her, and she had the remarkable ability to make friends wherever she went. Shanice's love for Spanish music would often be the backdrop to many memorable evenings with friends and family, and her passion for sushi and seafood was only matched by her enthusiasm for exploring new places. Always ready for an adventure, she was the first to say "yes" to any outing, embodying the spirit of spontaneity and fun.

After moving from San Diego to Albuquerque, Shanice's life was further enriched by her dedication to her family. Her marriage was a testament to her belief in love and commitment, and it stood as one of her greatest successes. Shanice lived with a purpose, relentlessly pursuing her dreams and goals with a tenacity that inspired those around her.

An avid shopper, Shanice had an eye for fashion, particularly shoes, and she could often be found perusing the latest styles with her beloved stuffed animal, Thomas, in tow. Her big heart and smile were as much a part of her as her outspoken personality, which she wore as a badge of honor.

Shanice's friends and family will remember her as friendly, funny, and adventurous. Her ability to light up a room with her presence and to turn any situation into a moment of joy will be deeply missed. She was a woman who lived life on her own terms, with a laugh that echoed and a spirit that soared.

Shanice’s life celebrations will begin with a visitation on Saturday, April 5, 2025 starting at 1:00 p.m. with a service to begin at 2:00 p.m. at Reflections Chapel located at 2400 Washington St NE, 87110.
