Rosemarie “Ree” Garcia, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 70.
Ree was preceded in death by her beloved parents Minerva “Minnie” Garcia and Perfecto “Pepe” Garcia; dear brother Emiliano “Emil” Garcia; and her beloved niece Ana Kaiser.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years James Garcia; cherished sons: Estevan Garcia (his children: Treazure Garcia, Paris Garcia), and Dominic Garcia (David Griego). Her love and pride for her “boys” and grandchildren were boundless. She is also survived by her loving sisters: Kathryn Kaiser, Angelica Tyler, Diana Rincon (Tim); brothers and sisters-in-law: Ralph Garcia, Michael Garcia, Angela Garcia (Patrick), Lawrence Garcia (Trish); Goddaughter Zanetta Crocker (Jason); cousin Victoria “Viann” Lapioli; dear friend and caregiver Agueda Carillo. She will also remembered fondly by many other beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Ree was a proud descendant of a historic colonial New Mexican family from Bernalillo. Her life was marked by love, strength, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community.
A true entrepreneur, Ree co-owned and operated Garcia and Garcia Air Cargo alongside her husband, James. Together, through hard work and a shared vision, they built a successful family business rooted in trust and dedicated service.
Ree found immense joy in caring for others—especially through food. Her kitchen was always open, a welcoming space filled with laughter, warmth, and the comforting aroma of her famous red and green chile. Her home was the heart of the family, where no one ever left hungry or unloved. She also had a love for shopping and was known for her thoughtful, generous gift-giving. Whether for family, friends, or someone she had just met, Ree gave from the heart and always went above and beyond to make others feel special.
Ree took great pride in maintaining a beautiful, spotless home. She cherished life’s simple pleasures, especially a bowl of chocolate “whipped” ice cream. She also delighted in watching her favorite TV shows and soap operas, finding peace and joy in the daily stories that brought her comfort.
Ree faced her final days with the same courage, grace, and resilience that defined her life—meeting every moment with dignity and a deep desire to remain close to those she loved most.
Ree’s presence was truly a gift to all who knew her—a woman of fierce love, deep tradition, and an endlessly generous spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of everyone she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered
