William W. Little, affectionately known as “Big Bill,” was born on May 2, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, and passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the age of 82.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Vicki; children: Lora, Chad; grandchildren: Katelynn, Chase, Sarah, Ashleigh, Alexandra; and great-grandchildren: Violet and Jack. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bill married Vicki Lynch Little in 1967 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Together they loved several home towns including Las Cruces and Santa Teresa, New Mexico where his family lived together since 1979. The values he acquired growing up in Las Cruces—where he played basketball on Lou Henson’s state championship teams—shaped the foundation of his life. He attended New Mexico State University, where he was a proud member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and formed lifelong friendships.
Bill spent 30 rewarding years working for Hewlett-Packard, a career he cherished. In retirement, he embraced a vibrant and adventurous life filled with his greatest passions: his love of family, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; skiing; the mountains; traveling; and his favorite foods—enchiladas, tacos, and cherry pie.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a tree in his honor in Lincoln National Forest near Ruidoso, New Mexico, an area dear to his heart that was affected by last year’s devastating wildfires, several options exist online.
