Alex A. Fajardo went home to be with his savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 24, 2020.
Alex is preceded in death by his parents Doroteo and Mary Fajardo, and sister in-law Della Fajardo.
He is survived by his wife Cecilia Fajardo; step-sons: John Romero (Diana), Chris Romero (Jo Ann); brothers: Eddie Fajardo, Rudy Fajardo (Barbara), Freddy Fajardo (Robert); sister Gloria Martinez (John); grandchildren: Seth Romero, Christiana Romero, Jenna Romero, Ambrose Romero, Layla Romero, Aliyah Romero, Abran Romero; nieces: Marissa Garcia-Hall, Michelle Fajardo, Diane Fajardo; great nieces: Gabriela Garcia-Huff, Abigal Garcia-Huff; nephews: Eric Garcia, Daniel Fajardo, and Evan Fajardo; and many great friends and neighbors. You all know who you are. He is also survived by many other wonderful relatives including: The Arias family, Padilla families, Fajardo families, Martinez family, Sandoval family, Salazar families, Lucero families, Montoya family, Baca family, Alexander family, Gutierrez family, Alderete family, Rael family, and the Atencio family.
Alex was born in 1942 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. He was a graduate of Valley High School. He earned his Bachelor's degree from UNM in Business Administration. He later received his Master's degree. He served our country as a Radioman in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Lexington. He joined the Albuquerque Fire Department for a short time. He retired from Kirtland Airforce Base.
Alex enjoyed fishing and traveling with his wife. Durango was his favorite place. He was a strong man. He helped anyone who asked in any way he could. He loved his family with all of his heart and he touched everyone's lives in his own special way.
He was an avid reader and studied the word of God fervently. He shared Jesus with family, friends, and strangers. He was a parishioner at Calvary New Harvest Church in Los Lunas. He formed many lasting friendships with his brothers and sisters in Christ. His heart's desire was for his family and everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus so we could all spend eternity together in Heaven.
Our Heavenly Father had other plans for Alex. His work on Earth was done. No more sorrow, no more pain.
His favorite scripture was John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except me through me."
Alex will be greatly missed.

The family would like to extend many, many thanks to the Presbyterian Progressive Care Unit. Including Dr. Banu, Dr. Carbajo, the nurses, and all the staff. that assisted in caring for Alex. They went above and beyond to do all they could to help him get well.
