Our beloved Bill went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the age of 66.
He was preceded in death by his father Andrew Hopkins, brother Michael Hopkins, and sister Jane Cordova.
Bill leaves behind his son Thomas Hopkins, mother Vonna Hopkins, brother Barry Hopkins and wife Sandy, sister Valerie Perez and husband Andres, also many nieces and nephews.
He was born on August 6, 1955 in Lisbon, North Dakota to Andrew and Vonna Hopkins. He was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since childhood.
Bill attended Eastern New Mexico University where he studied Heavy Machinery Mechanics and was a diesel mechanic for many years. He worked for Albuquerque Gravel Products, CalMat, WayCor Redi Mix and Duke City Redi Mix. He was knowledgeable working on vehicles, and was always well liked by his coworkers and employers. Bill loved talking with others and had a good memory. He loved going to the Breakfast club and Western View Diner and Steakhouse with Thomas. He was a loving father, brother, and uncle.
Bill is remembered for his wisdom, his patience and his kindness to all. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Bill's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church located at 1100 Indian School Rd NE, 87102. Service will begin at 11:00 am. Bill will be laid to rest following the Service at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery located at 700 Yale Blvd SE, 87106.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Hopkins, Doug Padilla, Christopher Cordova, Dominic Perez, Nicholas Perez, and Andrew Peralta.
