Dr. Leverett Millen Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend Dr. Leverett Stanley Millen passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Leverett was born on November 11, 1941, in Boston, MA to Dr. Hyman Millen and Rose Levine Millen. He was the second of four children. 

Leverett was preceded in death by his dear parents and his brother Edward.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years Dana Schultz Millen, son Jacob, sister Lois Rosenbloom (Carl), brother Richard, sister-in-law Nancy, brother-in-law Reid Schultz, mother-in-law Harriet Schultz and ten nieces and nephews. 

Leverett Millen was a Social Justice Warrior. Rest in power, dear one.

Leverett's Life Celebration will begin with a Service on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10:00 am at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Dr. Millen will be laid to rest at 2:00 pm at La Puerta Natural Burial Grounds. (Directions Below)

Leverett's Service will be live-streamed through Salazar Mortuary's Facebook page. You do NOT need to have a Facebook account to view the livestreamed event.  Please click the link below at the scheduled time.  

Pallbearers will be Jacob Millen, Malcolm Panthaki, Lety Cano, Eleanor Chavez, Vence Ketchens, Mitch Rekow, Michael Di-Biase, and Julien Boyance.

Directions to La Puerta Natural Burial Grounds from Albuquerque:

Take I-25 S to Belen Exit 195 and through downtown Belen.
Turn left (east) on W Reinken Ave/NM 309/River and continue across the Rio Grande River (about 2.4 miles).
Turn right (south) onto Rio Communities Blvd/NM 47 South.
Follow NM 47 S about 15 miles to just beyond the BNSF railroad crossing.
Shortly after mile marker 4, which will be on your left (east) look for a LA PUERTA sign with two red flags next to a green gate.

The gate is never locked. Please close this gate behind you, coming and going.
La Puerta Burial Ground is 2.5 miles east toward the Manzano Mountains from the gate.
There is also a green gate at the entrance to the cemetery. It is never locked. Please close the gate behind you.
