Frances Dorothy Armijo, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 88.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Juanita and Patracinio Armijo; siblings: Anne Padilla, Luis Armijo, Ernest Armijo, Elizabeth Gallegos, Robert Armijo; nieces: Evangeline Pargas and Barbara Armijo.
She is survived her sister-in-law Victoria Armijo; nieces and nephews: Lorraine Armijo, Rosalie Martinez, Theresa Sanchez, Debra Armijo, Jeanette Zalma, Lillian Tenorio; Ernie Armijo; Arthur Armijo; Marlene Castro, Marlyn Armijo, Maryann Jimenez, Patrick Armijo, and Diana Armijo.
Dorothy was raised in the south valley and spent most of her life in the Barelas neighborhood. She was very proud of her home. She was friends with all her neighbors who helped her over the years. She took pride in the upkeep of her family home.
She enjoyed her independence and in her younger days enjoyed traveling and working. She started working at San Antonio Drug on 4th street until it closed and moved on to other locally owned pharmacies and ended her career at Victor’s Pharmacy on Isleta.
Dorothy's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Friday, January 5, 2023, at 9:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 309 Stover Ave SW, 87102. Mass will begin at 10:00 am. Dorothy will be laid to rest following the Mass at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102. Reception will follow the burial inside the Sacred Heart Parish Hall.
