Korina I. Sandoval Obituary

Korina I. Sandoval, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, was called home to live with her Heavenly Father and her angels on Wednesday, November 19, 2020.

Korina's passing was unexpected, but she thankfully received her last blessing before her transition, with her loving husband and son by her side.

Korina is preceded in death by her father Nicolas, her mother-in-law Irene, her father-in-law Alfred, and her brother James.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alfred H. Sandoval, her daughter April J. Hanley, April’s sons: Joseph, Matthew, and Harrison), her son Alfred G. Sandoval and his fiance Kristina, Alfred’s son Gabriel and his fiance Cynthia, his daughter Domonique and her partner Alyx, his son Ayden and his youngest daughter Hana, her mother Elvira, her sisters, sisters-in-law, brother, brothers-in-law, also many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Our hearts are broken and we are deeply saddened by our loss, but we are grateful to have been graced by her love and light.

She was kind, funny, thoughtful, exuberant, and always willing to help whenever and however she could.  She suffered with a great deal of pain in her life from injuries and illness; we are grateful that she is no longer in pain and is now able to find peace and freedom from any illness or sorrow, as she has returned home.

Korina's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Friday, November 27, 2020 at 10:00am. The Service will begin at 10:30am. She will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, in honor of Alfred's service to our country. Korina's services will be private due to the current restrictions.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Joseph Alejandrez, Gabriel Sandoval, Ayden Sandoval, Matthew Costello, Harrison Costello, and her nephew Art Sandoval.

The Rosary and Service will be livestreamed on Salazar Mortuary's Facebook page. You DO NOT need a Facebook account to view the livestreamed events. Please click the links below at the scheduled time.

We regret that not all of her loved ones will be able to join the services, due to the covid virus restrictions, but we ask that you say a prayer for her and not let your hearts be burdened by sorrow, but to rejoice in her life, remembering her fondly and spreading the kindness and love she so willing and beautifully shared.
