Laura C. Zamora

Laura Catherine Zamora, a woman of remarkable wisdom and infectious passion who was born on December 19, 1939, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023, in the same beloved city where she first drew breath.

Laura was an embodiment of love, bringing happiness to everybody she came into contact with, through her optimistic approach to life and her ceaseless generosity.

Laura was preceded in death by her loving husband Roman G. Zamora; sons: Geno Zamora and Alberto Zamora; also her mother, father, brothers, and sisters.

Laura is survived by daughters: Angelica (Larry), Inez (David Espinosa), and Ramona Zamora; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Renowned for her love of bingo, an occasional trip to the casino, and her energising and rhythmic dances, Laura always brought a vibrant spirt to every occasion. Cooking wasn't just a duty but a delight for Laura, she cherished the joy her meals conferred, adding an extra element of togetherness to family gatherings.

But without question, Laura's greatest achievement and source of immense pride was her family. Her immense love for her family, combined with her wisdom and tireless devotion to their welfare and happiness, are her most compelling legacies. Laura Catherine Zamora is remembered for the pure love she bestowed and the radiant life she lived.

Laura's Life Celebration will begin with a viewing on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 6:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 6:30pm. Final viewing will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 7:30am also at Salazar Mortuary. Service will begin at 8:00 am. Laura will be laid to rest with her husband at 10:30am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, 87501. 

Pallbearers will be Daniel Espinosa, Alberto Zamora, Diandra Chavez, Anthony Mendez, Cameron Lagunas, and Isaac Lucero.
