Lawrence CDeBaca Obituary

Lawrence " Larry" CDeBaca, 74, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

Larry came into the world with his parents Mike and Lala CDeBaca on July 14, 1945 and passed into heaven surrounded by family on his birthday Sunday, July 14, 2019.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Viola CDeBaca, his 3 daughters and son, two sons-in-law, a daughter in-law, 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and his 2 sisters and their families:  daughter Leslie Tenorio and her children Walter Friederichs Jr., Jared Salinas, Candace Salinas, and Amanda Salinas;  daughter Adrienne Sayegh and her children Isaiah Sayegh, Jordan Sayegh, and Lorenzo Sayegh; daughter Jacqueline Costales, her husband Ray Costales and their children Jacob Costales,  Aitana Costales, and Isabella Costales; daughter Sarah Villas (who preceded him in death) her husband Michael Villas, and their children Monique Baca, her husband Peter Baca, their children Emmanuel Baca, Nehemiah Baca, Avalove Baca, Ezequiel Baca, and son Michael Villas Jr.;  son Lawrence CDeBaca Jr., his wife Tasha CDeBaca, and their children Andrew CDeBaca, Jeremiah CDeBaca, Chloe Casias, Chase Casias, Analena Hosack, and Raighana Hosack; his sister Helen “Jenny” DeBaca and her 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sister Rita Chase (who preceded him in death) and her husband Rick Chase and their 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister Mary Huerta and her 3 children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; his brother Mike DeBaca (who preceded him in death) and his son and children.

Larry lived life to fullest, loved to dance, and listened to music constantly. He married Viola on January 7, 1970 and he loved living with her in Albuquerque’s North Valley.  He always maintained a garden of green chile and veggies.   He was a jokester that often had kids in the family looking for the ever elusive “Snipe.” He played basketball until after midnight with any niece, nephew, or his own five kids that would join him in the backyard.  He loved camping and fishing and worked for over 30 years as a carpenter and foreman.  His work ethic taught his children everything they needed to know about providing for family and he was always a role model that his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren could look up to. All 5 of his children depended on his sound advice and always appreciated that he never “told” us what to do but instead helped us to decide for ourselves.  He loved coaching and teaching kids to play basketball and often coached extended family and his own kids.  He was a tough coach and expected a lot but there was a lot of cariño in his sports and life lessons.  He treasured family and we all felt individually special in his presence.  His family was his pride and joy and he was cherished by his children, wife, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters and his whole extended family.

Larry's Life Celebration will begin with a Rosary to be recited on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe located at 1860 Griegos Rd NW 87107.
