Oscar A. Olivas, 76, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Socorro Olivas; children: Martin Olivas, Laura Olivas, Elisa Olivas-Vindas, and Gerardo Vindas.

He loved walking his dog Mimi and playing cards on the weekends with his son Martin. He loved watching old western films. He collected baseball caps. He enjoyed having coffee with his compadre Mon. Above all, Oscar enjoyed all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Oscar's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 5:00 pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 10:00 am at Salazar Mortuary. Oscar will be laid to rest following the Service at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102. Reception will take place following the Graveside in the Salazar Mortuary Event Center.

Pallbearers will be Martin Olivas, Ian Lisenbe, Oscar Olivas, Jr., Gerardo Vindas, Marcos Corrales, Patric Pitts, Harodys Vindas, and Jorge Prieto.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.

Le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 57 años, Socorro Olivas; hijos, Martin Olivas, Laura Olivas, Elisa Olives Vindas, Gerardo Vindas.

Le encantaba pasear a su perra Mimi y jugar a las cartas los fines de semana con su hijo Martin. Le encantaba ver viejas películas del oeste. Coleccionaba gorras de béisbol. Le gustaba tomar un café con su compadre Mon. Sobre todo, Oscar disfrutó de todos sus nietos y bisnietos.

La celebración de la vida de Oscar comenzará con una visita el viernes 1 de julio de 2022 a las 5:00 p. m. en Salazar Mortuary ubicada en 400 Third St SW, 87102. Se rezará el rosario a las 7:00 p. m. El servicio se realizará el sábado 2 de julio de 2022 a las 10:00 am en Salazar Mortuary. Oscar será sepultado después del Servicio en el Cementerio Mount Calvary ubicado en 1900 Edith Blvd NE, 87102. La recepción se llevará a cabo después de la tumba en el Salazar Mortuary Event Center.

Los portadores del féretro serán Martín Olivas, Ian Lisenbe, Oscar Olivas, Jr., Gerardo Vindas, Marcos Corrales, Patric Pitts, Harodys Vindas y Jorge Prieto.
