Born on May 16, 1941, Patria was a light and joy to all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and unwavering dedication to her family defined her years and left a legacy of love and laughter.

She enjoyed candles that not only illuminated rooms but also the hearts of those around her. Her passion for flowers was evident in the colorful blooms that graced her life, a reflection of the care and attention she gave to every living thing.

Volunteering at the senior center, Patria shared her warmth and compassion, touching the lives of many with her kindness and her ever-present smile. A talented seamstress, she wove love into every stitch, creating beautiful things and memories that would last a lifetime. Dancing was a passion in her life, her feet moving to rhythms that matched her exuberant soul.

Gardening was a quiet retreat for her, a place where she nurtured nature and found solace. She also had a way with words, crafting poetry that captured the essence of her thoughts and the beauty of the world as she saw it.

Baking was a special delight for Patria, especially her pineapple upside-down cake which has been carried on through the years with love by her family. The Puerto Rican cuisine she lovingly prepared were more than just meals; they were an invitation to gather, celebrate, and savor life's simple pleasures. Above all, her children were her life's greatest joy. Being a good mother and caring for her kids was not just her purpose but her calling, and she tried to fulfill it with every ounce of her being.

Spirited, sassy, creative, and funny, her laughter was infectious, her spirituality and indomitable spirit allowed her face life’s challenges.
