Obituary
Patricia A. Grueninger Beasley, 86, author residing in Magdalena, New Mexico, passed from this life on Thursday, August 3, 2023, to soar in the heavens.
Pat, also known as Patsy, earned her master’s degree from Providence College in Rhode Island and lived a life of service and teaching as a Daughter of Charity nun for more than 22 years. She later worked as a Human Relations Specialist before settling in New Mexico with her late spouse, Karl Beasley, where she fell in love with the grandeur of the mountains and her natural surroundings. Pat returned to teaching while in New Mexico, commuting to the Alamo Navajo Indian Reservation School and then working at the local public school. Pat delighted in nature and enjoyed hiking, caring for her beloved horses, cats, and stray pets, and writing. She was very generous with her time and resources and contributed to multiple charitable causes.
Pat was especially close to her surviving sister, Anne Zentara (husband Stephen Zentara) and the late Carole Yeager, enjoying weekly chats, mutual support, and good humor over many, many years. Pat is also survived by her caring nieces Mary Zentara, Mary Teresa Casey, Patricia Chmielewski, Jean Smink, Anne Ambrose, Stephanie Zentara and Joyce Holsten.
Pat will be laid to rest on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 10:00am at La Puerta Natural Burial Grounds located South of Belen, New Mexico.
