Rosa Aneda Clorinda Perea

Clorinda (L’Esperance Otero) Perea, age 94, of Albuquerque, N.M, formerly of Barstow, California, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021, in Rio Rancho, NM.

Clorinda is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Bennie Perea; their first-born daughter Shirley; brothers: Santos Gonzalez, Ruben Garcia; sisters: Louisa Castillo, and
Priscilla Garcia.

Clorinda is survived by her four children: Martha (LeeRoy), Victor Perea (MaryAnn), Teresa Russell (Dan), Alice Silverman (Errol); grandchildren: Laura Paulus (Jason), Dominic Abeyta (Shannon), Sarah Johnston (Jason), Victor Perea (Krystal) , Maresa Gonzalez (Nathan); great grandchildren: Isabella, Katherine, Sophia, Kylie Rose, David, Nathan, Jaden, Mikayla, Charlotte, and Penelope.

Clorinda was born on March 24,1927 to Sebastiana L’Esperance. She was adopted and raised by Lucinda (Aragon) and Juan Otero of Valencia, NM.

Clorinda worked as a waitress for several years prior to marrying and moving with her husband Bennie to Barstow, California. During their 69 years in Barstow they had five children. They volunteered many hours at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, where they were members.

Clorinda loved to garden, crochet, and watch soap operas. Clorinda was devoted to her faith and family. She gave us the gift of life, feeling secure, safe, and loved. She taught us right from wrong being there for us no matter what.

Clorinda's Life Celebration will be private. Clorinda will be interred with her husband Bennie at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
