Victor Casares Obituary

Victor Casares, born on 10 January 1917 in Garfield, New Mexico, was the oldest of six siblings and the last to pass away and join the Lord on Sunday, October 7, 2018.

Victor is survived by his wife Alicia Lugo Casares, his daughter Narcisa Casares and his three step-children Gabriel, Maria, and Elizabeth.

He was a humble man who enjoyed serving his community through supporting local charities/shelters (for animals), supporting local high school sports’ teams, and through his church. He was a man who taught us the importance of prayer and that no day should start or end without acknowledging God’s works and blessings. He showed us that each and every meal is a blessing and should always be shared with loved ones. He also worked for Albuquerque Public Schools from 1969 to 1980 when he finally retired. Victor enjoyed traveling, including a trip to Cuba with his wife Alicia Casares. He also took pride in maintaining his home and yard to build up his community. Victor was a an incredibly generous man who lived by the word of God and practiced faithfully as a servant of God. Lastly, he was a sports enthusiast who always enjoyed a game well played from soccer to basketball to football (his favorite NFL team the Denver Broncos). The one thing to remember about Victor, is not only his service to his community and its people (and animals), but most importantly his service to God and his church.

Although we will miss him deeply, we take consolation in the good feelings and memories he left with us. May he rest in peace.
